I would love to join forces in the fight against this type of scam and animal cruelty. I take in neglected horse doctor them with vaccinations, dewormers, antibiotics lots of tender loveing care and find good homes for them. I just cant stand to see a neglected or unwanted horse being mistreated. I do my best in my little community to take in what i can handle. I go to the monthly horse sale and the auctioneers always buy the unwanted for me just so they dont get neglected or killed.

I WILL NOT PART WITH MY MARE BLUE GIRL!

Let me know all the information on helping in the fight against the cruelty of HORSES.

Thank You so much for this response! I have taken the cashiers check to all my local banks and yes that check was altered. Red Flags went up from the time we contacted thru emails. If this person was truely a horse person there would of been so many questions. Not to mention I informed him she needed her coggins test before being shipped out of state. I did some investigating on these email address's and names Kevin_foster212@yahoo.com Kevin Foster 50 yrs old of Sunnyvale California this is who contacted me as the buyer said she was going to california. The shipping company payment Officer Information is as shown
name Janet Morgan
address 41 Rue De La Chapelle
City Paris
Country France
Zip Code 75018
Email address of his shipping company is platinummoverinc@yahoo.com which i tracted down to be Janet Morgan of Miami Florida 34 yrs old.

I have taken all this information to the Bureau Of Criminal Investigations who happens to be a relative I am also turning this over to the Attorney General to be investigated. I sure dont want this to happen to anyone else. The internet site I put her on was our local television free classifieds KELOLAND.com.
Any help stopping this I and My mare Blue Girl will appreciate your help as well as many other owners who love their horse as family members.
Also to mention being as I am on Tribal Land this is a Federal Offense and I dont take kindly to someone thinking they are messing with a dumb indian and can get away with this. The tribe I belong to we are horse people they were and are eccential for our spiritual survival.

Hi Ella,

Unfortunately it very much looks like you have been contacted by one of the many scam artists targeting people via the internet. This scam is quite well known , world wide. A third party for the 'buyer' contacts the seller of the horse, often from Nigeria/Africa, offering to buy the horse unseen for more money than it's advertised. Often they don't ask any questions about the horse at all. They arrange to send the seller a cashiers cheque to cover the horse and the shipping/transport costs. After the horse has been shipped, they commonly ask you to refund the shipping charges as part of a "finders' fee" arrangement. Unfortunately, the cashier's cheque that is sent is counterfeit. This fact is not uncovered until the horse and the finder's fee have been forwarded to the scam artists.

In order for other people to be aware of this we would ask that you contact us with as much information you have on the 'buyer', and where you were advertising your horses.
French internet scams can be reported <a href="https://www.internet-signalement.gouv.fr/PortailWeb/planets/Accueil!input.action" rel="nofollow">here</a>. We have some info <a href="http://equinerescuefrance.wordpress.com/2009/06/27/beware-of-these-scams-free-horses/" rel="nofollow">here</a> on internet horse scams.

We would never recommend that anyone sells an equine without seeing where it is going and learning what the buyer intends for the equine in the future.

Please, DO NOT part with your horse, bank the cheque or send them any money at all as you will be left without a horse and be out of pocket!

Hi Emily,

We'll try and help you if we can.You say you rescued your Trotter, was it through a website or privately through a racing yard in France?
As your horse is a French Trotter he would more than likely be registered with the Haras Nationaux. Do you know why he didn't come with a French Passport, and on what paperwork did you get him into the UK?

Has the UK Passport that you got for him got his French microchip number on it, or did he not have a microchip when you bought him?

Hiya,
Was having a little read of your posts.
I too have recently rescued a french trotter gelding - I've currently got him registered with the uk passport agency.
I am really interested in tracing his past, but as I have no previous papers, I'm not sure where to start!
Has anyone managed to do this before?
If anyone could offer some tips or experiences I would be really grateful!
Thanks,
Emily

If your horses never come into contact with other horses you can still lower the risk of EIA by reducing the biting insects with a good repellant and avoiding wet/swampy grazing areas. Never use unsterilized needles or medical equipment between horses. Quarantine all new horses on the yard.
There is now a vaccine available for EIA but you would have to speak to your vet about this to see if it is used throughout France.
